Kaye P. McKee, D.Min., Executive Director

(Personal Pronouns: she/her/hers)

Kaye P. McKeeKaye's been married to David for 35+ years. They are parents to two incredible—and incredibly different—daughters, Arielle and Bethany, who, though living thousands of miles distant, serve on the Spacious Board.

Kaye ministers through writing and through A Spacious Place: the nonprofit birthed by her doctoral project. A confirmed God geek, Kaye earned her doctorate in Christian Nurture, as well as a Masters degree in Religious Education with a Childhood Specialization, and a Masters in Pastoral Ministry. A passionate supporter of education for all, Kaye seeks to provide a rich and welcoming learning environment for the persons A Spacious Place serves.

Kaye is shamelessly addicted to writing and to reading: especially the works of C. S. Lewis, Madeleine L’Engle, and Janet Evanovich. She’s a fan of long walks, messy collaging, and crunchy peanut butter. Also driving through the Texas Hill Country while belting out Eagles tunes.

Life motto: "The Queen of Hearts is always your best bet. (“Desperado” by The Eagles)"

Our Mission and Vision

MISSION: A Spacious Place, Inc. provides soul nurture through creativity.

Everyone can—and needs to—create: everyone needs love. We provide opportunities for persons, especially persons with special needs, to create in community. The act of creating has potential to promote self worth, to sharpen self awareness, and to connect human creator with Something Great and Good. Creating in a supportive community extends the individual's sense of worth to include the equal worth of others.

VISION: At present, we provide the bulk of our services to the vulnerable of Central Texas. Thanks to the connectivity of the Internet, we hope to serve a worldwide community.

Our Inspiration:A Spacious Place — 'The Wood Between the Worlds' at Town Lake in Austin What is creativity ... wonder ... truth? Is there a God? If so, what has God to do with me—or me with God?

We hope the offerings you find here will supply ample space for you to explore and express your seeking faith. Psalm 66:12 describes our hope for you.
