Get Involved

There are so many ways to support the services of A Spacious Place. We welcome and value your prayers, your volunteer hours, and your donation of supplies and funds. We also appreciate when you spread the word about A Spacious Place!

Empower Through Giving

Join our mission and make a difference. Whether you offer your time, donate supplies, or contribute funds, your support drives our creative initiatives forward. Choose how you’d like to get involved and champion creativity today.

Giving Time

We can always use volunteers at different commitment levels for special events, regular programs, and as a caregiver.

Giving Supplies

We need art supplies of all kinds to run our creative programs—markers, glue sticks, poster board, paper, printer ink, etc.

Giving Funds

We welcome financial donations via PayPal, Venmo, or mailed checks. Your contributions will fund our programs and supply costs.

A Spacious Place has increased my awareness and understanding that creating is truly a basic human need, as well as a means of reaching potential and learning to appreciate and value diversity. I will continue to support A Spacious Place because I believe in their mission, and in the people they serve.

Join Us!

We have various levels of volunteer opportunities based on your interests, skillset, and schedule. Please let us know the level at which you wish to volunteer. Join us today at the level that fits you best!

Preppers & Performers
(Level 1)

These folks volunteer only on special occasions (e.g., fundraiser staff; visiting artists; materials preparation). This level requires only preparation for and attendance at the event for which the person volunteers.

Level 1 Requirements

  • Whatever you need to help you perform or help us prep. Otherwise, we are excited to have you!

Apprentices (Level 2)

These folks function under the supervision of caregivers (e.g., Art in the Park guides working with a caregiving volunteer). This level requires, in addition to the Level 1 requirements, the viewing of our online “Playground Principles” (about 20 minutes total) and an agreement to follow these principles in work done for A Spacious Place.

Level 2 Requirements

  • Completion of our “Playground Principles” Training Video (20 minutes).
  • Signed “Playground Principles” Agreement.
  • Presence of Caregiver for supervision.

Caregiver (Level 3)

These folks have direct care of Protected Classes, which includes children and youth, persons 65 years or older, and persons with disabilities (e.g., SAFE Alliance, club arts guides, camp counselors, Mary Lee arts guides). This level includes all requirements for Levels 1 and 2, the completion of a volunteer application with references, and a background check. (Some groups with whom we volunteer have additional requirements.)

Level 3 Requirements

  • Completion of our “Playground Principles” Training Video (20 minutes).
  • Signed “Playground Principles” Agreement.
  • Completed Volunteers Application
  • 2 Relevant References
  • A Background Check
  • Additional requirements may be needed depending on organization/host collaboration.
