Our Speakeasy & Explorer Club
Banned Book Speakeasy: Do you delight in drinking in new worlds, fresh perspectives, times gone by—or yet to come? If so, then make your way to our Banned Books Speakeasy!
First Sunday of each month, from 2 until 3:.30 p.m. We’ll get between the covers of a great banned book, then, through our own creative expression, respond to its contents. Suggested supply fee $5.
Recommended for age 18 and older (we’re staunchly against book bans and staunchly in favor of developmentally appropriate reads).
March's read is Baseball Saved Us, by Ken Mochizuki, illustrated by Dom Lee.
Banned Book Explorers Club: For children aged 4 years and older. We start with creativity centers, have a snack, read a great banned picture book, and do some creating based on the book’s theme. Registration link FReadom starts young!
February’s read is The Story of Ferdinand, by Munro Leaf, drawings by Robert Lawson.
Let your FReadom ring!
